Chinese music diva Song Zuying will perform her summer concert at the Bird’s Nest on June 30. She will also join hands with special guests including the Spanish tenor Placido Domingo, Chinese pop singer Jay Chou and Chinese pianist Lang Lang - all offering Beijing a unique and talent-packed performance.
The long-awaited concert will feature both western and Chinese music, where not only classical piano and Chinese folk song will meet on stage, but also where traditional elements of Chinese music will be combined into modern pop.
This is the second time Song and Jay Chou will take to the stage together since their first successful performance at the Spring Festival Gala in 2009. Although traditional Chinese music is the performance’s overall theme, this “perfect pair” will offer both a new sound and fresh interpretations to many old favorites.
